DIY weaved t-shirt

A cute easy design for an old t-shirt.

You will need a t-shirt that fits you or is a little big, a pair of scissors, and a ruler.

Step 1: Fold the t-shirt in half and start cutting one inch from the neck line. This will create a over-the-shoulder scoop neck affect.

It should look look like this now

Step 2: Fold the t-shirt like so.

Next take a ruler and diagonally place it and cut the back in half inch slits until you reach the bottom.

This is how it should look when you are done.

Step 3: Start by pulling each strip by hand to stretch it out, do this to all of them.

This is how the back should look, now if you  like it like this then you can just keep it without weaving it.

Step 4: The weaving part! Begin by grabing the top piece.

Next place it on top of the next one and grap the strip.

Continue by doing that until you reach the bottom and you have a little loop left.

Then take the loop and cut it.

Finally tie each piece to the other loop and double knot it.

Step 5: put it on! It is all ready to be worn,  if you want to have a second line of weaving then just repeat the process as many times as you wish. Here is the finished product.

  1. Hey Liz, Just started blogging myself... I really like your background choice, and I'll probably be stopping by once in a while to see how you are doing!
